Memphis Military AntiquesMemphis Military AntiquesThis is a fantastic example of a WWII German bayonet made for the K98 rifle! These bayonets were carried in combat by the vast majority of the German army during the war. This bayonet was made by Friedrich Herder Abr. Sohn based in Solingen Germany and is stamped on one side of the blade. On the other side of the blade is the number 8797. On the spine of the blade is the number 40 meaning the bayonet was made in 1940. There is no visible marking o n the leather frog. The bayonet has a Waffen acceptance stamp just below the button (WaA253). This would be agreat addition to any German WWII collection!
