8-inch Cannonball Fragment from Vicksburg

📜 Description

This is a large chunk of shrapnel from an 8" cannonball! These cannons that fired these shells were used by both the Union and Confederate armies during the siege of Vicksburg Mississippi. This piece has been expertly cleaned, coated and inscribed in white paint! The fragment measures about 6"long, 3 1/2" wide and 1 1/8" thick when measured at the widest points. The fragment weighs 5lbs.
