Excavated Confederate Artillery Short Sword from Shiloh

📜 Description

This is an excellent example of an excavated Confederate Artillery Short Sword! These swords are attributed to Thomas Leech & Co. / Memphis Novelty Works firm of Memphis Tennessee. This particular sword was found by a farmer while plowing his field on the Shiloh battlefield in 1935!
This sword measures at a total length of 24" with 18 1/2" being the blade.
Since this is a dug sword please see pictures for details on the condition and additional pictures can be provided upon request!
The rust on the blade is stable and does not flake.
