Memphis Military Antiques
Memphis Military AntiquesThis is a nice honest example of a model 1872 Kepi hat! This particular Kepi has the crossed sabers cavalry insignia as well as a number 6. This hat retains the visor and leather sweatband but the visor is loose (see pictures). There are two eagle C buttons on the outside of the kepi. There is a tag in the back that says its civil war dated but that's incorrect since its a post civil war hat, but the rest of the hat is real and original to the 1870s era. There is a maker on the inside of the hat but it is worn down and unreadable due to service use.
